Office of the Executive Director

Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency is under the Executive Branch and it is a regulatory agency charged with protecting air, land, and water resources according to Navajo Nation authorities.  Recently, the Navajo Nation EPA has moved toward including a renewed interest and focus on and incorporation of Navajo traditional values of Mother Earth and the protection of all it's resources.

Finance Department

Navajo EPA Finance Department handles all budgetary matters with NNEPA tribal, and federal grants.  Finance focuses on the developmental of 1.5 million dollars worth of grants from the Federal USEPA.  Finance works with tribal OOC, OMB, to ensure compliance with Federal and Tribal Guidelines.  Oversees and reviews the reporting of all expenditures.

Office of Environmental Review

Office of Environmental Review works with tribal departments and programs for development of businesses and industry on the Navajo Nation.  Additionally, all environmental reviews are handled with this office for approval of homesite leases on Navajo Nation trust lands.

GAP (General Assistance Program)

The General Assistance Program provides a number of services that benefits the program, and also the communities throughout the Navajo Nation. GAP allows for the development and execution of the an annual NNEPA conference.

GAP is transitioning to capacity building projects as set in the new General Assistance Guidance.  GAP's purposes are to plan, develop, and establish tribal environmental protection programs consistent with federal authorities.
